Famous Bananaphile #1 – Freddie Mercury.

  • Food: Bananas ... what else?

   Freddie Mercury, lead singer of rock band “Queen,” was born Farrokh Bulsara on September 5th 1946 in Zanzibar, and died on November 24th 1991. He was a truly eccentric bananaphile!

 

   In his Pop video - “I’m going Slightly Mad!” – he sang the following lines:

I'm one card short of a full deck,
I'm not quite the shilling,
One wave short of a shipwreck,
I'm not my usual top billing,
I'm coming down with a fever,
I'm really out to sea,
This kettle is boiling over,
I think I'm a banana tree.
